Switching inspection software
Start with what you need to keep.
Asset records, past reports and established routines are part of your business. A software change should begin there, with a real assignment and a clear view of what needs to come with you.
What has to work on day one?
Choose a recurring assignment that reflects your daily work. What information does the inspector need? Who reviews the findings? What happens when an issued report needs a correction?
That is a more useful starting point than a long wish list. In a workflow review, we can compare your process with Besiktra’s current capabilities and identify what needs to be resolved before a pilot would be worthwhile.
Test a sample of your records.
Besiktra supports importing customer, site and asset records from CSV and Excel. An import can be previewed to identify errors and missing information before it is carried out.
What can be transferred depends on your existing system’s export and how its fields map to Besiktra’s records. Existing assets are not automatically overwritten. Historical reports, attachments and other specific formats need a separate assessment.
A pilot should help you make a decision.
If the workflow is a good fit, we can define a pilot for one part of your business. Before it starts, we need to agree on users, data, cost and what you want to evaluate.
Include the difficult cases: missing information, an assignment returned for completion and a correction to an issued report. Those cases reveal whether a workflow will hold up in daily use.
- One defined workflow and an agreed sample of data.
- A clear distinction between existing features, configuration and development needs.
- Criteria for continuing, adjusting the scope or stopping.
Plan the transition after you have tested.
Any wider rollout needs its own plan for records, documents, training and responsibilities. During the transition, it should be clear which system is the source of truth for each part of the work.
Integrations and additional development need a separate scope. The subscription, migration work and any new development should each be clear before you commit.
What would be hardest to leave behind?
Start there. An initial review does not commit you to a software change.
